Matteo (Base Rose)

I performed live during the very first edition of HEYA, at a time when everything was still fragile and taking shape.

I was alone on stage, with my setup, searching for a form: voices, electronic music, words trying to find their place. Base Rose did not yet exist as it does today, but something was beginning to emerge.

That evening acted as a turning point. The encounters, the attentive listening, and the conversations with performing arts professionals gave substance to this intuition. I felt that this artistic direction made sense, that it could be taken further and explored in a different way.

HEYA was a moment of transition. Today, Base Rose is entering an important phase of its development, with live spoken poetry, and I know that this first performance played a significant role in that journey.
